Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 May 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service explain how you may use KeenCatholic ("the Service"). KeenCatholic is a trading name. The Service includes the KeenCatholic.com website, the Faith Map, the Faith Plan, the Parish Plan, the Katechon practice library, the member dashboard, and any associated features and content. These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Who Can Use KeenCatholic
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly allow accounts for children under 13.
If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and permitted your use of the Service. Paid access for under-18 users must be purchased by a parent, guardian, or institution (for example a school or college).
If you are registering or purchasing on behalf of a parish, school, diocese, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Accounts, Access, and Membership
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Please use accurate information and keep your details up to date.
Your membership is personal to you and may not be shared with or transferred to any other person.
4. Services, Pricing, and Billing
KeenCatholic includes free and paid features. Current pricing, billing frequency, and renewal details are shown at checkout.
Payments are processed by Stripe. KeenCatholic does not store your payment card details.
Paid memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase before your next renewal date. If you do not cancel before the new price takes effect, your continued use of the Service will constitute acceptance of the new price.
Digital content and cooling-off waiver. When you purchase a paid membership, access to the Service — including any digital content such as your Faith Plan — begins immediately. By proceeding with purchase, you expressly request immediate access to the digital content and acknowledge that your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to digital content supplied immediately at your request. You retain the right to cancel your ongoing membership at any time via your account settings. This waiver is recorded when you complete checkout.
Refunds. Where digital content has been delivered and you have accepted the cooling-off waiver at checkout, we are not required to provide a refund. Any refund requests will be considered at our discretion. This does not affect your statutory rights, including your rights where digital content is faulty or not as described.
If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until payment is successfully collected. You are responsible for keeping your payment details up to date.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at help@keencatholic.com before raising a dispute with your bank or payment provider. Chargebacks raised without first contacting us may result in your account being suspended pending resolution.
Promotional codes and discount offers are subject to their stated terms, are not transferable, may not be combined with other offers, and are not exchangeable for cash. Unless otherwise stated, promotions apply to the initial billing period only; renewals are charged at the standard rate.
These terms do not affect your statutory rights.
5. Family & Friends Membership
A Family & Friends membership is paid by a primary account holder and covers up to four accounts in total — the primary account holder plus three linked members. The primary account holder receives three unique codes and distributes them to their chosen members. Once a code has been redeemed and an account created, it cannot be reassigned to another person.
The Family & Friends membership will auto-renew unless the primary account holder cancels before the renewal date, as shown in account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, at which point all linked accounts will also lapse.
If the Family & Friends membership lapses or is cancelled, linked members will revert to free access and will be invited to subscribe at the standard individual membership price. Their account and data will be retained.
6. Gift Membership
Gift codes grant fixed-term access to the Service. Gift codes must be redeemed within 90 days of purchase, after which they expire. Once redeemed, access lasts for the gift period purchased — three months for a quarterly gift or one year for an annual gift. At the end of the gift period, the recipient will be invited to subscribe at the standard membership price.
Once a gift code has been redeemed, it cannot be refunded. An unredeemed code may be refunded at our discretion within 14 days of purchase. This does not affect your statutory rights.
7. Partner Programmes and Insights
We may work with parishes, dioceses, schools, colleges, and other partners. Partner dashboards show aggregate cohort insights only and do not reveal the personal information of any individual user.
We apply minimum cohort thresholds before showing partner insights and may update these thresholds over time to support privacy and data quality.
8. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including responses, notes, and assessment data.
You grant KeenCatholic a licence to use this content to:
- (a) provide your personalised Faith Map, Faith Plan, and related services;
- (b) operate, maintain, and improve the Service; and
- (c) generate aggregated and anonymised insights.
The licence you grant us is worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and non-exclusive.
Aggregated and anonymised data does not identify you and may be retained and used after your account is deleted.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- submit content that is harmful, abusive, discriminatory, or unlawful;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- attempt unauthorised access to any part of the Service or another user's account;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the Service;
- scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content from the Service;
- present our website in a frame or wrapper on another website;
- reverse engineer or attempt to obtain the source code of the Service; or
- use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent.
Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
10. Intellectual Property
KeenCatholic and all intellectual property rights in the Service — including its software, design, layout, algorithms, scoring methods, and content — are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. This includes the Katechon framework, the Faith Map, Faith Plan, and Parish Plan including their design, structure, and methodology, and practice guides. Faith Map™, Faith Plan™, Parish Plan™, and Katechon™ are trademarks of KeenCatholic. The KeenCatholic name, logo, and associated trademarks may not be used without our prior written consent.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. No ownership rights in the Service or its content are transferred to you.
11. Privacy and Consent
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and retain your personal data, including data relating to religious belief.
We use cookies to support the operation of the Service. For details of the cookies we use, please see our Privacy Policy.
We may send you transactional emails relating to your account, billing, and the Service. With your consent, we may also send you marketing communications about KeenCatholic. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time via your account settings or by following the unsubscribe link in any email.
12. Suspension, Termination, and Data Deletion
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account.
If payment fails and cannot be collected after repeated attempts, your account will be downgraded to free access. Your data will be retained for 90 days, during which you can restore paid access by updating your payment details in account settings. After 90 days, your account and personal data may be deleted.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion. Where we do so without cause, we will provide a pro-rata refund of any prepaid subscription fees. Where termination is due to serious or repeated breach of these Terms, no refund of any prepaid subscription fees will be given. This does not affect your statutory rights.
If you cancel your subscription, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. If you delete your account, access ends immediately and your personal data will be deleted or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention. Aggregated and anonymised data, which does not identify you, may be retained.
The following sections continue to apply after your account is terminated or these Terms end: section 10 (Intellectual Property), section 15 (Liability), and section 20 (Governing Law).
13. Content Accuracy
We make reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy of content on KeenCatholic, including practice guidance and formation resources. However, we cannot guarantee that all content is complete, current, or error-free. We encourage you to provide feedback to us on any issues you find.
14. Third-Party Content
Some pages on KeenCatholic link to or embed video guides hosted on YouTube. While we make reasonable efforts to select trustworthy and accurate video content, we are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or suitability of third-party content. KeenCatholic is not affiliated with YouTube or its content creators unless stated otherwise.
We may also link to other external websites for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those sites. You access third-party content at your own risk.
15. Liability
We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. We cannot guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times, or that it will meet every specific requirement.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of data, loss of income, or business interruption.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the total amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where this would be unlawful, including any rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.
16. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in providing the Service caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, power failures, natural disasters, or government actions.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will give reasonable notice through the Service or by email. If you do not accept the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
18. Business Continuity and Transfer
If KeenCatholic is merged, acquired, or undergoes a change of ownership, your data may be transferred to the new owner, who will continue to process it in accordance with these terms and the Privacy Policy.
If KeenCatholic ceases operations, we will endeavour to provide notice and an opportunity for you to export your data where reasonably practicable. We may then delete or anonymise personal data. Aggregated and anonymised data may be retained.
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms, or your account, in whole or in part, to any other person without our prior written consent.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us relating to your use of the Service. Our failure to enforce any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you have a legal enquiry, please contact us at legal@keencatholic.com and we will do our best to resolve it promptly.
